A creative identity born in India, carried to Dubai, and connected by one unbroken vision. Some brands are created for business. Others become part of the person who created them. For me, Photoczaro is the second kind.
There are names we choose because they sound right. Then there are names that slowly become part of who we are.
Photoczaro is not simply the name written beneath my photographs. It is not just a website, a logo or a photography portfolio. It is a name I have protected, carried and continued to believe in since 2017.
It began in India. It travelled with me to Dubai. Somewhere along that journey, it became much more than a photography brand. It became personal.
Where the Photoczaro Story Began
In 2017, Photoczaro did not begin with a large photography studio, an established team or a carefully calculated business plan. It began with an idea.
I believed photography could do more than document how someone looked. A photograph could reveal an emotion, preserve a moment and sometimes show people something within themselves that they had never noticed before.
I became fascinated by the way light could transform an ordinary space. A small change in expression could tell an entire story. One carefully created frame could remain meaningful long after the moment itself had passed.
That fascination became Photoczaro.
In the beginning, the name represented possibility. It represented the work I hoped to create and the photographer I hoped to become. Like many meaningful beginnings, it was not accompanied by certainty. There was no guarantee of where it would lead.
There was only curiosity, commitment and a quiet feeling that this name deserved to be kept alive. So I kept it alive.
- Photograph by photograph.
- Project by project.
- Year after year.
What Does Photoczaro Mean?
People sometimes pause when they first see the name. They ask what it means, how it should be pronounced and how it should be written.
P H O T O C Z A R O
It is written as one word: Photoczaro. Not Photozaro. Not Photoczar. Not Photo Czaro. Photoczaro.
The name brings together two ideas. "Photo" represents light, imagery, memory and visual storytelling. "Czar" historically describes a ruler or a figure with command and authority. Within Photoczaro, however, this does not represent authority over people. It represents command over the creative elements that form an image: light, emotion, composition, atmosphere and story. The final "o" gives the name its own rhythm. It softens the strength of "czar" and makes the word feel more artistic, distinctive and international.
Together, Photoczaro can be understood as "the sovereign of photography" or "one who commands the art of the image." For me, its deeper meaning is:
Mastering light to give emotion a lasting form.
Photoczaro is not about pointing a camera and simply documenting what stands before it. It is about observing what others might overlook and shaping that moment with intention.
It is about understanding when light should be controlled and when it should be allowed to breathe. It is knowing when a person needs direction and when they need space. It is recognising when an image should speak loudly and when its strength lies in silence.
The name carries confidence, but it also carries responsibility. To command an image means respecting the person within it: using technique in service of emotion instead of allowing technique to overpower it. That balance between artistic authority and human sensitivity is the true meaning of Photoczaro.
From India to Dubai
When I moved from India to Dubai, I did not want to leave Photoczaro behind.
A new city can make you question everything. It offers an opportunity to start again, change your direction, reinvent your identity or choose a new name that appears better suited to a new market. But Photoczaro was never something I wanted to replace.
The name already contained years of learning, experiments, mistakes, discoveries and dreams. It carried the memory of where I began and the ambition of where I still wanted to go. So I brought it with me.
I did not simply carry a photography brand from India to Dubai. I carried a promise.
- A promise to continue creating.
- A promise to keep developing my visual language.
- A promise that the dream which began in one country would not disappear because life had taken me somewhere new.
Dubai gave that promise a much larger canvas. The city introduced me to people, cultures and creative perspectives from across the world. Every person brought a different history, energy and way of expressing themselves. Every collaboration challenged me to observe more closely and communicate more thoughtfully.
Photoczaro began to grow, not only in the number of photographs created, but also in its understanding of people. Dubai became more than the new home of Photoczaro. It became part of its identity.
The Photographer Behind Photoczaro
My name is Hatim Champeli, and I am the founder and photographer behind Photoczaro. Today, my work includes portrait photography, model portfolios, fashion editorials, magazine stories and selected commercial photography across Dubai and the UAE.
But being the person behind a camera involves much more than exposure, composition and focus. A photographer is also responsible for the atmosphere surrounding the image.
The person standing in front of the lens may feel nervous. They may be entering a professional photoshoot for the first time. They may have an idea they cannot fully explain, or a side of themselves they have never felt confident enough to reveal.
My work begins before the shutter is pressed.
- It begins by listening.
- It begins by creating trust.
- It begins by understanding that every person has a different relationship with their appearance, confidence and identity.
That is why patience and direction matter so deeply to me. Confidence cannot be demanded from someone. It must be encouraged. A meaningful portrait cannot always be forced into existence. Sometimes it must be given the time and space to emerge.
The camera may capture the photograph, but human connection is what gives it life. This belief has shaped the way I work with everyone, including experienced models, emerging creatives, entrepreneurs, publications, agencies, brands and people who simply want to see themselves differently.
More Than a Beautiful Photograph
Beauty alone has never been enough for me. A technically perfect image can still feel empty. It can be sharp, polished and carefully lit, yet say nothing.
The photographs that remain with us usually contain something more: vulnerability, strength, stillness, mystery, confidence or truth. That is what Photoczaro searches for.
The purpose is not to manufacture a different person in front of the camera. It is to reveal something authentic and present it with intention. Sometimes that becomes an intimate portrait that feels deeply personal. Sometimes it becomes a fashion story, an editorial series, a model portfolio or a commercial campaign. Sometimes the image is quiet and minimal. At other times, it is cinematic and dramatic.
The visual language may change, but the purpose remains constant: to create photography that makes people feel something.
Over time, Photoczaro's photography has reached international publications including UNTAMED, Marika Magazine, Malvie, Ellas, GMARO, Beautica, Charisma and Quadro Magazine. I have also had the privilege of working with more than 100 models and creatives.
These milestones matter to me, but not merely as numbers or publication names. Behind every editorial was an idea someone trusted me to interpret. Behind every portrait was a person who placed a part of their story in my hands. That trust is the real achievement.
Why Photoczaro Remains Close to My Heart
There are few things easier to abandon than a dream that has taken longer than expected. Every creative journey contains moments when progress feels invisible. The distance between where you are and where you want to be can appear impossibly large.
Photoczaro has lived through those moments with me. It has grown as I have grown. Its visual identity has become more refined, but its emotional foundation remains connected to the person who started it in India in 2017.
That is why I cannot think of Photoczaro as something separate from myself. It contains my history. It reminds me of the courage required to begin before I knew exactly what I was doing. It reminds me of every lesson learned through practice, every collaboration that changed my perspective and every person who trusted me before there was any certainty about where the journey would lead.
Keeping the Photoczaro name alive was my way of respecting that beginning. Growing it is my way of respecting everything it can still become.
The Vision for Photoczaro in Dubai and Beyond
The vision for Photoczaro is to build a creative identity recognised for more than beautiful photography. I want Photoczaro to be known for its way of seeing people: for portraits that feel timeless rather than temporary, for editorial and fashion photography that is polished without becoming impersonal, for stories that carry elegance while remaining human.
I envision Photoczaro becoming a creative home where portrait photography, editorial storytelling, talent and meaningful collaborations can exist together. The introduction of Photoczaro Models is part of that wider vision. It grows naturally from years spent working closely with models, understanding their ambitions and recognising the importance of connecting the right talent with the right opportunity.
But the heart of Photoczaro will never belong exclusively to models or the fashion industry. It belongs to anyone with a story worth expressing.
- To the person discovering their confidence.
- To the artist trying to communicate an idea.
- To the entrepreneur building something from nothing.
- To the publication searching for a distinctive visual voice.
- To the brand that wants to connect with people honestly.
- To every individual who wants to preserve a meaningful chapter of their life through photography.
The Photoczaro Mission
Photoczaro's mission is simple, even if achieving it requires constant work:
To create imagery with intention, emotion and lasting value.
That means treating every person with dignity and respect. It means creating a professional photography environment where people feel safe enough to express themselves. It means guiding rather than intimidating, collaborating rather than controlling, and paying attention to the details that make a photograph feel honest.
It also means continuing to grow. Photography never allows us to arrive at a final destination. There is always another way to understand light, another story to explore and another person who changes how we see the world. Photoczaro must continue evolving while remaining faithful to the values that gave it life: creativity, trust, patience, individuality and human connection.
This Is Still the Beginning
Nearly a decade has passed since the name Photoczaro first came to life in India. Since then, places have changed. The work has changed. I have changed. But the name remains.
Today, Photoczaro stands in Dubai with a clearer identity, a growing international body of work and a vision extending far beyond a single photograph. There is still much to build: more stories to tell, more people to meet, more creative boundaries to explore and more meaningful work waiting to be created across Dubai, the UAE and beyond.
Perhaps that is what Photoczaro truly represents to me. It is not a finished achievement. It is a living journey. It is a reminder that beginnings do not have to be perfect to become meaningful. A dream can cross borders without losing its identity. Something carried quietly for years can eventually find its place in the world.
Photoczaro began as a name. It became my creative voice. Now, it is becoming a world of its own.
This is not simply the story of where Photoczaro has been. It is the promise of everything still to come.
